About Ken | Ken
has been married to the lovely Miss Kay a native girl of Haleyville for over 33
years. He truly enjoyed a long and successful career in the military, retiring
in 1995, as a Colonel with 29 years of combined service on active, Army National
Guard and Army Reserve duty. He
is the president of Whitt Jewelry a family owned and operated business in Haleyville.
His community involvement touches many lives in ways most are unaware of. He is
the chairman of the the Haleyville Water and Sewer Board, the Haleyville Coordinator
of the Alabama Communities of Excellence (ACE Program), a member of the Northwest
Mental Health Board and member of the First Baptist Church in Haleyville.
While
there is seldom much free time, Ken enjoys a good football game and sports in
general, Broadway musical plays, Sherlock Holmes and Science Fiction. His favorite
dinner is fried chicken and mashed potatoes.
In preparing for this brief
bio on Ken, one cannot leave out the affection he has for his family. His granddaughter
Reagan can do no wrong and is often allowed to tattle on her Mom at every chance!
Ken and Kay were recently blessed with a new grandson, Jackson Phillip on August
12.
If Ken could be doing anything differently right now it might include
moving to Athens, Georgia where his daughter Beth and her family will be moving
to in February. In the mean time, we are all glad that Ken Sunseri is here and
the person that he is, his contribution to our community at large is blessed and
better as a result! You can learn more about Ken by linking to Haleyville
Leadership.
